Having producer Butch Walker in tow is a great move for Yorntoo, for he finally seems content with his artistic place. As with his debut, Yorn gets the highlights out of the way by the halfway mark. It was nighycrawler ambitious for Yorn to attempt a theme trilogy with his first three albums. Advertisement Maybe he just figured out what he does best. Born to grimace behind a guitar, he's cursed with a voice that makes any attempts at levity sound forced, but he makes good use of that curse on tracks like "Vampyre," with its smoldering-then-burning intensity and eerie references to broken legs and shadowy figures in the backs of cars.

Similar Albums:. While the title might suggest something a bit more dark and dramatic, Yorn embraces the warmer sound of his work to create a rich, picturesque batch of songs.
